Accounts Manager

We are small but fast-growing accountancy firm based in London. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a qualified ACA or ACCA with at least 3 years’ post qualification experience, ideally from a practice background who seek an opportunity to grow and develop. We pride ourselves on providing career progression and continued development. This role has high visibility within the Senior Management team and the opportunity to move into a senior role within practice.


The role requires a qualified accountant with a strong track record of financial reporting and an experience of managing taxes including VAT, corporation tax and payroll taxation. The successful candidate will demonstrate a result driven mindset with an approach to continuously seek process improvement.


Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:


  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and comply with accounting standards and regulations
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to break down the solution into smaller parts to plan and organise the tasks in an agile way.
  • Managing the client by producing monthly, quarterly, and yearly deliverables and strengthening the client relationship.
  • Awareness of all applicable financial/taxation standards, process documentation & training
  • Regular communication with clients to ensure deliverables are accurate, and timely, including responses to client queries.
  • Manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Oversight of preparation and review of statutory accounts
  • The review and preparation of Tax Returns and Statutory Accounts (under FRS 102, Section 1A and FRS 105) for Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders
  • Review and preparation of VAT returns and in-depth knowledge of cross border VAT transactions
  • Review and preparation of SA1 and SA100 with the understanding of tax reliefs
  • Review and preparation of CIS returns and detail knowledge of CITB
  • Proficient in using QuickBooks, Xero and Excel - knowledge of other software such as TaxCalc would also be beneficial.
  • Able to adapt to different software and technology
  • Excellent communication skills. Be able to build and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, including analysis of financial data and the identification of trends and opportunities for growth
  • Experience and skills of handling the non-established taxpayer’s tax returns and query will be a plus point.
  • Supervise general accounting and administrative work

 

The Person


  • Will be ACCA or ACA Qualified
  • Leadership experience would be an advantage
  • Will have demonstrable experience managing people
  • Will have a strong background in financial control
  • Will have excellent attention to detail and high-level analytical skills
  • Will be driven, keen to make a difference and will have strong systems implementation experience

  • ACCA or ACA qualified


Experience

  • Accounting 03 years PQE


What’s on offer

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
  • Benefits: Flexible start & finish times, 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), 1 extra day’s annual leave for every 3 years of service, Annual salary review, quarterly social events (paid for by the firm) and lots more!
  • Contract type: Full Time / Permanent
  • Hours: Monday - Friday / 9am - 5pm
  • 5-day office role (Flexibility to Hybrid working)
